Faith Vs Love!
What do you think is very vital for a Christian to withstand the trials of the world and Satan? Mark 9:23 says, “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Then why did the disciples were not able to chase the demons? What did they lack - faith or prayer? Is prayer interconnected with faith? God said, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea,” and it will obey you. I have heard of people uprooting big trees with their strong hair, but not mountains with a word of faith, did you? I wonder why men are not able to uproot mountains (not literally) with the little mustard faith, but say “I keep his commandments.”
What did David have on God? Was it the little mustard faith that made him fight against a giant? When he saw the giant rebuking the Almighty God and the Israelites were so afraid to even look at him, but David said, “Who is this uncircumcised philistine to defy the armies of the living God?” I see here the faith of David on the living God. Verse 36 talks about David explaining his previous attempts to the king of how simply he killed a bear and a lion. So he says he can do the same for the ungodly philistine! I have a question here! What did David possess here? Was that the ultimate faith or the unfailing love? For we read in his psalms that he “loved His (God’s) commandments and His commandments made him straight.”
